Mary Martin Elementary opened it's doors in 1996. Named after a Weatherford Icon, Mary Virginia Martin. The Weatherford Texas Broadway star was famous for her roles in Peter Pan, Sound of Music and South Pacific. Martin is the mother of Heller Halliday and Larry Hagman who also known to many as JR Ewing from the hit TV show, Dallas.
